What is GALAPAGOS ?

The mobile phone is called 'Galapagos phone' in the Japanese market.
Japanese said "Gara Kei", It is Japan's Feature phone.

Galapagos is shown by a theory of the evolution by Charles Darwin. In the Galapagos, there is many species and characteristic evolution animals habitat. Similarly, the Japan's feature mobile phone has became advances with the original technology only valid in Japan's islands.
Especially, NTT Docomo's i-Mode is known as Web mobile phone technology, it is developed HTML sub set. In Japan's other mobile phone operator, they also developed a similar technology then aimed at the enclosure of the customer. But at present, those technology is burden which has not prospective extensibilities, and those companies's operation cost was boosted up.

This has many function,  Mega pixel camera, Digital TV, Felica, Bluetooth, Web browser, Dictionary and Downloadable applications.
The carrier is KDDI, They has ez-web that is similar i-Mode.

But I can use only camera, bluetooth...and more mail?



If you make new technology, when consider prospective extensibilities.
Like an i-Mode. Those no-prospective technologies call in Japan slang "like a Vermiform appendix".
